Canada – Canadian boaters: Don’t forget you MUST have a Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card before operating. Fines are being assessed. Take the course online here.
South Carolina – State Natural Resources officials are considering mandatory training for new boaters. The proposals would require changes in state law. Under review is requiring a basic boating safety course before anyone new to boating takes to the water. Take the course online here.
North Carolina has passed a law requiring boat operators up to the age of 26 to pass a boating safety course.
Florida – New Boating Regulations
Louisiana – Every person 16 years or younger on board a motorboat or vessel less than 26 feet in length is required to wear a U. S. Coast Guard approved personal flotation device (PFD) while that motorboat or vessel is underway.
