Is a stopper knot - it keeps the line from slipping out of things, such as a pulley.
"The King of Knots!" Used to form a temporary loop in a line. (So you can throw it over a piling, for example.)
For attaching a line to a cleat on the dock or on the boat.
For tying two lines together or tying something down.
